My Journey Part 2 — When Having It All Wasn’t Enough

Originally shared in September 2024. I’m gathering it here as part of my journey.

I stood on the terrace, looking out over the water. The house behind me was the dream I had worked so hard to create. Yet as the chilly autumn breeze touched my face, all I felt was… nothing.

How could I have everything I thought I wanted and still feel so empty inside?

The psychologist’s words echoed in my mind: “You can’t keep living like this. This isn’t living at all.” As much as I wanted to deny it, I knew she was right.

That house was more than a home, it was a symbol of the life I had built. The ocean view, the cozy fireplace, the staircase where my children played, everything looked picture-perfect. But behind the walls, I was crumbling.

In 2014, when the house was finished, I should have felt on top of the world. I had a beautiful family, two amazing kids, and a thriving career. From the outside, it looked complete. But inside, I was lost. With all the boxes checked, the terrifying question remained: “Who am I, if I’m not chasing the next thing?”

I was performing, not living. I had mastered “doing” but forgotten how to “be.” The scariest part was that I no longer knew who I was. I was consumed by roles, mother, partner, professional, yet none of them reflected the real me.

Separating from the father of my children felt like tearing down everything I had built. It wasn’t just the end of a relationship, it was the end of an identity. Walking away wasn’t just leaving a house, it was leaving behind a version of myself I didn’t know how to live without.

For years, I searched for answers, reading books, listening to podcasts, trying self-help strategies. But transformation didn’t come until I stopped looking outside and began turning inward. Slowly, piece by piece, I started to rebuild, not a house, not a career, but me.

It wasn’t a sudden epiphany. It was a quiet, slow unfolding. As I tuned into my heart and intuition, I began to feel whole again. I stopped chasing validation and instead asked myself, “What do I really want? Who am I?”

In 2023, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in a transformational coaching program. For the first time in years, everything aligned. My journey had led me to a moment of clarity: I had been healing, growing, and now I wanted to help others do the same.

Through this process, I’ve learned that we all carry the power to create the life we truly want. But it doesn’t come from ticking boxes or chasing achievements, it comes from daring to look within and trust the path, even when it’s unclear.

As Steve Jobs said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.”

Sometimes, the scariest leap of faith is also the most rewarding. Today, I trust that by walking in my truth, the dots will keep connecting, moment by moment, guiding me exactly where I’m meant to be.
